At a time when impending changes to the Inland Revenue's treatment of freelance consultants (IR35) has created a great deal of confusion and uncertainty in the R&D consultancy sector, ALTEN's approach guarantees that its clients will continue to benefit from the flexibility given by the use of freelance contractors, but with the security of knowing that our engineers are full-time permanent employees for whom all tax and NI payments have been deducted as they would be for any normal employee, and with whom there is no risk of an 'implied employment' relationship being created.
