ALTEN Ltd Selected by EDF and Sizewell C as a Professional Services Framework Partner for the UK Nuclear Programme
Three framework agreements signed across Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C, and EDF Nuclear Operations — qualifying ALTEN across 50 engineering and professional disciplines.
ALTEN Ltd, the UK subsidiary of the ALTEN Group — one of Europe’s leading engineering and technology services firms — has been selected to sign three Professional Services Framework Agreements (PSFAs) with EDF and Sizewell C Ltd. These agreements cover EDF’s UK nuclear entities: NNB HPC, EDF Nuclear Generation Ltd, and Sizewell C Ltd, a standalone project company majority-owned by HMG (Her Majesty’s Government) and with EDF as a minority shareholder
The agreements, signed in Q1 2026 following a competitive tender process, position ALTEN as a qualified framework partner across both pillars of the UK nuclear sector: the EPR new build programme — comprising Hinkley Point C (HPC) in Somerset and Sizewell C (SZC) in Suffolk — and the existing nuclear generating and defueling fleet through EDF Nuclear Operations.
ALTEN’s selection covers a broad range of professional services disciplines, spanning Engineering & Technical, Construction, Quality, Safety Security & Assurance, Commissioning & Pre-Operations, Project Management, Programme Management, and Business Support — placing ALTEN alongside the UK’s major engineering consultancies as a global-tier framework supplier.
“This selection reflects the strength and depth of the relationship ALTEN has built with the EDF group over more than a decade. With over 1,600 engineers already working on EDF projects internationally, we are well placed to provide the UK nuclear programme with the capability and capacity it needs — from new build through to long-term operations.”
Antoine Santoni – Director of the Group’s Energy Activities at ALTEN
The PSFA selection builds on a decade of sustained partnership and constant investments in developing capabilities to support European Nuclear Programmes. EDF is ALTEN Group’s second largest client globally. More than 1,650 ALTEN engineers currently work on EDF projects across France, the UK, and Germany — over 100 of whom are already embedded with EDF entities in the UK today.
The framework agreements provide a structured mechanism for EDF and Sizewell C to draw on ALTEN’s expertise as needs arise across all aspects of its professional services requirements, supporting key business challenges associated with both the construction and commissioning of new nuclear capacity and the sustained operation of the existing fleet.
