What will you be doing? 

As a Fuel Systems Calibration and Control Engineer, you will join Gillingham team to support our activities within the automotive sector. 

Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Proficiency in circuit design, PID (proportional-integral-derivative) control, sensor integration, and electronic control unit (ECU) programming.
  • Strategize, implement, and assess system performance measurements utilizing test benches, performance rigs, and similar facilities.
  • Establish clear benchmarks for system performance.
  • Formulate calibration protocols for both internal and customer utilization.
  • Provide assistance in Hazard analysis and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in circuit design principles and experience with relevant software tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD).
  • Strong understanding of control systems theory, including PID control and its application in real-world systems.
  • Hands-on experience with sensor integration, including selection, calibration, and interfacing with microcontrollers or ECUs.
  • Demonstrated ability to program electronic control units (ECUs) using languages such as C or MATLAB/Simulink.
