What will you be doing? 

As a PLC Engineer, you will join the Leicester team to support our activities within the Electronics sector. 

Your main responsibilities will be: 

• Develop and implement PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programs using Siemens TIA Portal.
• Design and program PLC systems using Ladder Logic programming language.
• Develop and design Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems.
• Utilise AutoCAD, Fusion 360, and Solidworks for designing and modelling electrical and mechanical components.
• Use Simulink and MATLAB for simulation and analysis purposes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PLC systems into electronic devices and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and debug PLC systems to ensure efficient operation.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in PLC programming and related technologies.
• Provide technical support and training to other team members as needed.

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field. (Master’s degree in a relevant field is a plus) 
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in PLC programming and engineering.
• Proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal for PLC programming.
• Strong understanding of Ladder Logic programming language.
• Experience in HMI design and development.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Fusion 360, and Solidworks for designing and modeling.
• Familiarity with Simulink and MATLAB for simulation and analysis purposes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and clients.
