Due to ongoing expansion, Alten Ltd is looking for a Front End SW Engineer to join our team in London (or remotely) within the Defence sector. This is a fantastic chance to join a fast-growing company with strong core values of Excellence, Accountability, Integrity and Service.

Your new role:

As a Front end SW Engineer you will become part of our major project within the Defence Industry.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Developing and programming software across a broad portfolio of work
• Developing the web application that will store all industrial data and to ensure a new way of using the data, more interactive and more digital.
• Prioritizing user experience
• Bringing a concept to life with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Taking care of the production and maintenance of websites and web application user interfaces
• Participating in all aspects of the Software lifecycle
• Being responsible for the analysis of solution requirements as well as leading and participating in the detailed design
• Testing the site for usability and fixing any bugs
• Setting and managing objectives and support the professional development of others within the team

The successful candidate will have the chance to work on several exciting projects throughout their career with Alten, developing their engineering knowledge as an SW Engineer and a consultant.

Experience required:

• JAVASCRIPT
• React – UI (Material UI)
• Unit Testing
• DOCKER

Highly desirable:

• Knowledge of using material-UI widgets rather than customed styles widgets
• Expertise in providing unit testing for front end applications, including:
  • Mocking
  • Jest
  • Enzyme
  • Json-server
• Knowledge for setting up the applications
  • Npm scripts
  • Json-server
• Redux based state management libraries
  • Rematch
  • Recoil

Qualifications required:

• Degree in a relevant engineering disciple with demonstrable experience.
• UK SC Clearable
